I came across the work of artist Paul Volker a few years back when I was searching for a memorable birthday gift for a friend. Volker paints mostly animals, married with pithy text, using house paint on plywood. He was able to create a custom piece for me and I enjoyed the quirky email exchange that passed between us while sorting out the details. Here are a few of his pieces.
